Umbraco users rank open-source CMS provider among G2’s top 20 Best Software Companies in EMEA 2024

open-source .Net content management system (CMS) company, Umbraco, today announced that user reviews have ranked the company in the top 20 Best Software Companies in EMEA in G2’s 2024 Best Software Awards. The list includes leading providers of cloud computing, web content management, AI, and cybersecurity software. Umbraco is the only open-source software company to have been ranked among the top 50 EMEA software companies.

As the world’s largest and most trusted software marketplace, G2 is visited by 90 million software buyers each year. Its annual Best Software Awards rank the world’s best software companies and products based on reviews from real users.

The Umbraco CMS underpins thousands of government, retail and professional services websites around the world, with a strong presence in Europe, the UK and the US. The open-source core CMS is actively supported by a quarter of a million .Net developers and 1,500 digital agency partners, backed by a commercial organisation, which provides support, training, and automated updates on Umbraco Cloud.

This is the second year that users have recognised Umbraco in G2’s Best Software Awards, owing to its continued investment in the open-source .Net CMS platform; its focus on ensuring an intuitive experience for content editors; delivering flexibility and extensibility via seamless API-based integrations for website developers; and providing scalability via its Cloud offering.

Filip Bech-Larsen, CTO, Umbraco, commented, “We are delighted to have received this user recognition from the G2 marketplace. This is testament to the work that Umbraco, and the open-source community, have put into delivering the best editor experience, while also ensuring that developers have the flexibility to pick and mix from the tech stack. This approach allows digital agencies to build how they want to build, using the software elements that are most likely to meet business requirements and deliver ROI for their enterprise customers, while also creating delightful digital experiences.”

In the past twelve months, Umbraco has made new ecommerce, UI and workflow tools available to website developers, and incorporated headless functionality within its core CMS, to support content consistency and omni-channel functionality. In addition, many prominent technology partners have added ready-made packages to the Umbraco Marketplace, to enable seamless API-based integrations that extend the core CMS functionality for enterprise clients.

B2B software buyers, just like consumers, start their purchasing journey with research,” said Sara Rossio, Chief Product Officer at G2. “As the world’s largest software marketplace, G2 attracts more than 90 million buyers to our site each year – more than any other B2B marketplace – reaching those from companies of all sizes, in all industries. Based on their authentic feedback, we’re proud to announce the 2024 Best Software Award winners. Congratulations to the less than 1% of vendors listed on G2 who made one of our 30+ lists this year, achieving recognition driven by verified data, rooted in the source that truly matters — authentic customer voice.”

G2’s 2024 Best Software Awards feature more than 30 different lists, ranking software vendors and products using G2’s proprietary algorithm, which is based on G2’s verified user reviews and publicly available market presence data. To be eligible for the Best Software Awards, a software company or product must have received at least 50 approved reviews during the 2023 calendar year. Scores reflect only data from reviews submitted during this evaluation period.
