Kuebix Offers Comprehensive Methodology to Manage Inbound Shipments
Kuebix, creator of a transportation management system that delivers true freight intelligence, is offering a comprehensive methodology to manage inbound transportation operations, as outlined in an informative white paper, “The Art of the Inbound.” Frequently overlooked and often pushed to the bottom of a shipper’s supply chain agenda, good inbound freight management can help companies improve shipment visibility, increase efficiency and boost profitability.

To start, companies should partner with their suppliers to lay out a plan of action to determine the most cost-effective and efficient way to ship and unload their freight. Using a freight transportation management system (TMS), like the Kuebix TMS, businesses can establish mandatory guidelines with suppliers for compliance of vendor-controlled (VDS) and customer pick-up (CPU) shipments. Supplier compliance programs reduce cost of goods by making carriers and warehouses more efficient. If suppliers fail to comply, they will be subject to violations outlined in the routing guide, resulting in savings through the sharing of costs.

Kuebix TMS fosters a strong alliance between shippers and carriers that enables inbound shipments to be consolidated to reduce freight and unloading costs. Reducing the number of individual LTL shipments will decrease the cost of freight, dramatically increasing the efficiency of distribution centers and significantly reducing unloading costs.

Kuebix TMS also enables the creation of dynamic rate allowances to ensure savings on both TL and LTL shipments by calculating the best possible real-time vendor allowances based on actual carrier rates as demand dictates. It also automates tracking, scheduling and door assignments, which will directly reduce labor spend. Kuebix TMS captures every relevant piece of data and returns reports, dashboards and scorecards that allow shippers to analyze their inbound freight program and identify opportunities for increased efficiency.
